Deborah Kane-Goldblatt is a New Zealander by birth, raised in Beirut, Lebanon until her late adolescence. She immigrated to the United States in 1967 living in Hawaii, Southern and Northern California.

From 1979 - 1998, Deborah published LA411, the entertainment industry’s most trusted database, now owned by Variety. Upon the sale of LA411, she worked for numerous Not for Profit organizations based in the Bay Area of San Francisco focusing on multi-generational, youth and family programming.

In 2006, Deborah created and led the Youth Dialogue Project for the World Forum in San Francisco, 2007 followed by work in cross-cultural facilitation and conflict resolution coaching for students across 100 colleges within Soliya’s Connect Program. She also served on the Advisory Council for the Human Rights Center at the University of Berkeley, California for over ten years.

Deborah Kane-Goldblatt and her husband, Stephen have lived in San Miguel de Allende in Central Mexico since 2015.

Her e-book, Syria Welcomes A Stranger was released in December, 2019 to fundraise for the U.K. charity, Help Refugees’ pop-up shop campaign.

This printed edition of Syria Welcomes A Stranger supports the work of the advocacy campaign called Action For Sama.
